About Allys Johnson
Clinical Psychologist Rockhampton

Where Experience Meets Empathy

With over 16 years (since 2009) of clinical experience, I’ve had the privilege of supporting children, adolescents, adults, and families throughout the Rockhampton region and Central Queensland. My personal journey — including lived experience of neurodiversity — fuels my passion for helping others embrace their uniqueness and navigate life with clarity and confidence.

Ready to Begin Your Journey Toward Change

My Approach & Philosophy

I practice from a foundation of Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), enriched by strategies drawn from mindfulness, distress tolerance, somatic awareness, attachment theory, motivational interviewing, developmental psychology, and more. I believe therapy works best when it’s a partnership: you are the expert in your life, and I'm here to help co-create meaning, purpose, and practical strategies together.

In sessions, you’ll find a relaxed, judgement-free space. Whether that means using fidgets, avoiding eye contact, or even taking your shoes off, your comfort is paramount. My clients often share that what sets my practice apart is my non-judgmental stance, my clarity in explaining concepts, and the tangible skills we build together — not just handing out suggestions.

Supervision, Consultation & Knowledge Sharing

I'm deeply committed to learning and growth — and I enjoy offering clinical consultation and supervision to early-career psychologists and allied health clinicians. Colleagues and supervisees describe me as approachable, concrete in my explanations, and generous with knowledge. I see supervision as a shared learning journey: translating theory into real-world clinical thinking and fostering confidence in decision-making.

My Values in Practice

Connection — establishing safe, genuine therapeutic relationships

Growth — helping you explore and evolve toward your values

Collaboration — designing interventions together, not for you

Inclusion — respecting neurodiversity, cultural differences, and individuality

Thank you for considering my services. If you’re ready to explore meaningful change in a compassionate, evidence-based space, I welcome you to reach out.
