How many Medicare rebates can I get per year?
Under the Medicare Better Access initiative, you may be eligible for rebates for up to 10 individual therapy sessions and 10 group therapy sessions per calendar year. Your GP, psychiatrist, or paediatrician can prepare a Mental Health Care Plan to help you access these rebates. If you require additional support after using these sessions, your GP can review your plan and discuss alternative options.

Do Medicare rebates apply to psychological assessments?
Yes, Medicare rebates may apply for some assessment components or for clients under 25 years old, depending on eligibility and the nature of the assessment. Please contact our office to discuss your specific situation — we’re happy to clarify rebate options and provide a quote for assessment services.

Do you bulk bill?
We do not offer bulk billing. However, we process your Medicare rebate immediately after payment, meaning the rebate is returned to your nominated bank account within 1–2 business days. If you have financial concerns, please let us know. We aim to be transparent and will discuss options where possible.

You and/or your family may qualify for a medicare safety net. See below for further information.

What is the Medicare Safety Net, and how does it help?
The Medicare Safety Net helps reduce your out-of-pocket costs for eligible health services, including psychological therapy, once you reach a certain annual threshold. After you’ve spent a set amount on Medicare services in a calendar year, Medicare increases the rebate you receive for the rest of that year.
This means you’ll receive a higher rebate per session and pay less overall. You can learn more or register your family online through servicesaustralia.gov.au/medicaresafetynet.

Will I be charged for assessment reports?
Yes, there is a separate fee for the preparation of assessment reports. This cost reflects the time required to analyse results, interpret findings, and prepare a detailed written report. You’ll receive a clear quote after your initial assessment, outlining the estimated cost and what’s included.
Can I use Afterpay or a payment plan for assessments?
Yes, Afterpay is available for psychological and neurocognitive assessments.
We understand that assessments can be a significant investment, and offering payment flexibility helps make this process more accessible for families and individuals.

Afterpay allows you to pay for your assessment over four fortnightly instalments, while receiving your appointments and report as scheduled.
Fees for Assessment are also invoiced in stages across the assessment process so that the cost can be spread out further.

Please contact our reception team if you’d like to use Afterpay or arrange a plan — we’re happy to assist in finding the option that best supports your needs.

Do you offer after-hours appointments?
Yes. A limited number of after-hours appointments are available to support clients who have work, school, or caregiving commitments during the day.

Please note that these are subject to availability and may include a small additional fee to cover extended hours.
